Bio energy from waste

Our pumping solutions support the energy from waste process, and in food waste applications removes unwanted solids such as broken glass, metal cutlery, small batteries, etc. from sources such as supermarkets, restaurants and food producing factories. Waste can then be used to create bioenergy, which is one of many diverse resources available to help meet our demand for energy. It is a form of renewable energy that is derived from recently living organic materials known as biomass, which can be used to produce transportation fuels, heat, electricity, and products.

BIO ENERGY
FROM WASTE

An EMS pump is ideal because:

  • EMS pumps feature special materials to accommodate glass & metal in the slurry being pumped
  • Tolerant of hot sludges
  • Can be retrofit into existing plants
  • Many reference sites from the UK to Canada, Saudi Arabia.

The processing of food waste has become a major industry in the production of bioenergy, however this has demanded a new generation of equipment to cope with the abrasive and sometimes hot nature of the waste. This abrasive nature of the glass and metal content in the
food waste has destroyed a multitude of pumps featuring fast rotating elements, whereas the slow-moving nature and special materials of construction enable the EMS ram pump to withstand this continuous punishment. Initially trialled at Wessex Water’s plant in Avonmouth the EMS food waste pump has become a panacea for the industry with numerous installations both in the UK and around the world
